                              RESOLUTION NO. 21644
                
                
                 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF A FOURTH
                 AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH DENNIS W. SMITH
                 TO CONTINUE TO PERFORM INSPECTION SERVICES ON
                 CONTRACT NOS. 73C AND 73D, SWM-3-96, AND
                 SR-3-97, FOR AN ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION OF
                 EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($80,000.00) FOR A
                 REVISED TOTAL AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-NINE
                 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($239,000.00).
                
                
                                                    
                
                
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, that there be and is hereby approved a
       Fourth Amendment to the Agreement with Dennis W. Smith to 
continue
       to perform inspection services on Sewer Contract Nos. 73C and 
73D,
       Big Ridge Collector Sewers V and VI, Stormwater Contract No.
       SWM-3-96, Drainage and Water Quality Abatement, and Contract No.
       SR-3-97, Highland Park Sanitary Sewer Point Repairs, for an
       additional consideration of $80,000.00, so as to increase the
       total cost from $159,000.00 to $239,000.00.
